Write Act Repertory
& Artistic Producing Director John Lant with Colleen Reilly & Matt Popham
Present
A Midsummer Night's Dream
By William Shakespeare

Directed by John Jeffrey Soroka

A re-telling of Shakespeare's classic with a “Nature vs. Man” twist. The romantic adventures of two sets of couples are complicated by their entrance into the fairyland woods where the King and Queen of the Fairies preside with the impish folk character Robin Goodfellow (Puck) plying his trade. When a bumptious band of "rude mechanicals" stumble into the main doings, the supernatural world collides with the real world…and Nature decides what is best used or discarded when, and if, the blessings are bestowed upon mankind.

EXTENDED THOUGH NOVEMBER 3RD!!!

(loosely) Lysistrata Tonight @ 8! [28 Jul 2007|08:05am]

Graphics behind cutCollapse )
(Loosely) Lysistrata
A New Play by Stewart Zuckerbrod
Songs by Charles Baker and Stewart Zuckerbrod
Based on the graphic novel “Lysistrata”
By Ralf Koenig (after Aristophanes)
Directed by Will Aaron

It's ancient Greece, and the Athenians have been at war with the Spartans for so long that no one even remembers the reason that the battle started in the first place. (Something about "destructive weapons"...) Together with her lover, the Spartan singer Lampito, lesbian activist Lysistrata convinces the women of Athens to go on a sex strike in order to force their men to stop fighting! This results in painful...er, hardship...for the soldiers, and the gay men of Athens, led by the fabulous drag queen, Hepatitos, are all too happy to help out! What happens when the homophobic army institutes "Operation 'Buddy Relief'" is the subject of this madcap romp through -- as Hepatitos puts it -- "Life! And death! and sex! And...(sigh)...love...."

(Loosely) based upon a work by German writer Ralph Koenig, Stewart Zuckerbrod's (Loosely) Lysistrata, a new play with songs and music by Zuckerbrod and composer Charles Baker, puts a 21st Century twist on Aristophanes' ancient comedy, "Lysistrata."

Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays

Hi everyone! The company I work at is looking for someone to fill an IT help desk position. It's a medical clinic, with two locations and about 150-180 users. We need someone that knows networking (or wants to learn) has a MIS or CS degree, and good personality. The people are really great to work with. The more you know about working in a window's environment the better. So any experience with AD or Exchange would be beneficial. The position is in the Santa Monica area.

Thanks!

November has started and let the console wars begin! While Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft duke it out, the website just keeps getting better and better.

I've added a new section, Gamer Life! It has an advice column, job postings, interviews with women in the industry, horoscopes and an event calender for all your gaming events! Also a section for Gaming Fashion! Let me know if you have any suggestions of things to add!

The big news for November is our membership drive. The person that brings in the most new members gets a prize valued at $100!!! So go to the forums to read the details.

Over the next few weeks, we'll be adding more interviews and starting our gift giving campaign!

Until then, happy camping for whatever new console you want!!

love,
Trina ^_^

Selling my old books... [25 Sep 2006|08:44am]

moonlightdrake
Just joined and am looking for buyers for my old World of Darkness books (not the new WoD). I have almost every book from all the games, minus Changling. I am going to be posting a complete inventory of the books on my website soon; but you name it, i probaly have it. Most are in Near Mint to Very Fine, with a few mint and some not so good and some inbetween. For the near mint ones I'm looking for around 50% of the cover price, not including shipping. I'll post more information on the website, and I may post some on e-bay.

Also I have ONE MINT gold cover Onslaught: Marvel Universe, still factory sealed in the package with the COA. And ONE Near Mint gold cover Onslaught: X-men, not sealed but in original package, with the COA. I am wondering what these are going for now-a-days. Ive checked e-bay and they are about $400 buy-it-now. Is that a good going rate, or what?

Nerd Shirts!!! [26 Aug 2006|04:02pm]

Hey, SoCal Geeks!

I've made a few shirts, and I've had little success getting the traffic to my site, so I've been seeking out some of my nerdy brethren and, uh, pimping my wares directly. My site is buzz-wear.com, and the three designs I've successfully made so far are:

I've also been wondering if there's a master list of geek cons out here -- sci-fi, anime, comic, and most of all GAMING!
I thought there would be plenty out here, but I can't seem to find ones I can actually get into.

Thanks!!!
